PVC and PE and EVA are different in the application of film

The soft film has a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) shed film, a polyethylene (PE) shed film, and an ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer (EVA) agricultural film.
(1). Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) shed film: Polyvinyl chloride resin is added with plasticizer, stabilizer, lubricant, functional auxiliaries and processing aids, and is calendered into a film. Good light transmission, blocking far infrared rays, strong heat preservation, soft and easy to shape, good adhesion, good weather resistance are its special features. The disadvantage is that the density is large (1.3g/cm3), the coverage area of the shed film is reduced by 1/3 compared with the polyethylene film (PE), the cost is high, the hardening and embrittlement at low temperature, and the softening and relaxation at high temperature is helpful. After the agent is precipitated, the film surface is easy to stick to dust, affecting light transmission, and the residual film cannot be burned because of the poisonous chlorine gas. In Japan, about 80% of greenhouse cultivation covers PVC shed film.
(2). Polyethylene (PE) shed film: Polyethylene shed film is a polyethylene resin extruded into a film. It is light in weight, soft, easy to shape, good in light transmission and non-toxic. It is suitable for all kinds of shed film and mulch film. It is the main agricultural film variety in China. The disadvantages are: poor weather resistance, poor heat preservation, and difficulty in bonding. If the greenhouse film is to be added with additives such as an antioxidant, no drops, and a heat retaining agent, it can be suitable for production. At present, the main raw materials of PE are high pressure polyethylene (LDPE) and linear low density polyethylene (L-LDPE).
(3). Ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer (EVA) agricultural film: EVA has a barrier to infrared light between PVC and PE. EVA has weak polarity and can be mixed with a variety of weathering agents, heat retaining agents and anti-fogging agents to form a film with good compatibility and strong inclusiveness.
Different materials have different characteristics: EVA has excellent cold resistance; secondly, PE, PVC film containing 30% plasticizer hardens at 0 °C, and has poor tensile and impact resistance.
EVA and PVC agricultural films are not suitable for hot summer applications. The initial light transmittance of PVC and PE can reach 90%, and PVC will affect the light transmission with time, so that the light transmittance will drop rapidly.
